As well as demonstrations and hands on classes with expert local chefs, participants see Italian cuisine in action in a number of excellent restaurants (where the emphasis is on the food and not the show). We visit primary producers and learn the secrets of the quintessential Italian products and learn not merely about cooking techniques but about selecting ingredients, using spices and condimenti and food presentation. We investigate, during visits to celebrated vineyards and cellars, the astonishing range of local wines (Italians are very moderate drinkers, but have strong ideas on whose wine is best and what wine goes with what). The tour group stays in characteristic family-run rural villas, well appointed hotels and visit some of the most beautiful and historic towns and villages of Italy.
Kitchen Antics tours are limited to small intimate groups of twelve participants and are personally escorted by tour leaders, Max Paganoni and Susan Williams.
